引人入甕者終必自入甕中；殺人以刀者、終必自傷刀下。諸聖之恆忍堅信、於是乎存。

“ If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

“ Everyone who is supposed to be captured will be captured. Everyone who is supposed to be killed by a sword will be killed by a sword.”( Jeremiah 15:2) So God’s people must be patient and faithful.

If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints.

Anyone who is destined for prison will be taken to prison. Anyone destined to die by the sword will die by the sword. This means that God’s holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful.

如彼詢爾曰、我當何往、則告之曰、耶和華云、當死者就死、當刃者就刃、當饑者就饑、當虜者就虜、

未被虐而虐人、未被欺而欺人、禍哉其人、爾虐人甫畢、則被虐、爾欺人甫畢、則被欺、

爾既堅忍守我之道、我亦將守爾、免乎受試之時、此時將臨於寰宇、以試凡宅地之人、

兄弟乎、宜恆忍以待主臨、試觀農人冀地之嘉產、恆忍以待、至得前後之雨、爾亦宜恆忍、堅乃心、蓋主之臨伊邇也、

耶穌曰、韜爾刃、凡執刃者、必亡於刃、

爾之生、將於恆忍得之、○

諸聖徒之忍在此矣、是乃守上帝之誡、及耶穌之道者也、○

致爾勿怠、惟效由信與忍而承所許者、○

有流爾血、害爾命者、或獸或人、我必討之、凡害人命者、我必討之、凡流人血者、人必流其血、蓋上帝造人、乃肖己象也、

我知爾諸行、勤勞忍耐、彼惡者爾不能容、自謂使徒而非然者、爾曾試之、知其偽矣、

爾須忍、致爾既行上帝旨、則得其所許、蓋曰、尚有須臾、則來者必來、決不稽遲、

彼至擊埃及地、當死者必死之、當虜者必虜之、當刃者必刃之、

仰望耶和華之拯救、而靜俟之、斯為美兮、

耶穌又設喻、語眾當恆祈不倦、曰、邑有士師、不畏上帝、不禮世人、其邑有嫠、屢就之曰、有仇我者、祈伸我冤、久而不許、後自思云、我雖不畏上帝、不禮世人、但此嫠瀆我、必伸其冤、免其恆來擾我、主曰、聽此不義之士師所言、況上帝選民晝夜呼籲、雖久忍之、豈不伸其冤乎、我語汝、必速伸之矣、雖然、人子至、將見信於世乎、○

我知爾諸行、與愛、與信、役事、忍耐、且爾後之所為、較勝於前、

我約翰、爾曹之兄弟、與爾共與耶穌之難與國與忍者、為上帝之道及耶穌之證、昔在一島曰拔摩、

以彼流聖徒及先知之血、今爾以血飲之宜也、

我兄弟乎、爾罹諸試、當悉以為樂、因知爾信之經驗、乃致忍也、惟使忍成功、致爾完全無缺、○

故宜憶所受所聞如何、且守之而改悔、倘不儆醒、我將至如盜然、爾不知我何時而至也、

蓋此啟示、有定期焉、其終極必速至、決不虛誑、雖則遲延、爾其待之、因其必臨、不濡滯也、

蓋耶和華出於其所、以罰地上居民之罪、地將暴露其血、被殺之人、不復掩蓋、

列邦引之旋歸、以色列家於耶和華之地、將得之為僕婢、昔虜之者、為其所虜、昔制之者、為其所制、○

其忍受惡人如此之橫逆、爾宜念之、免至疲倦喪志、爾攻罪惡、尚未捍禦至於流血、

又依其有榮之權力、以諸能益爾能、俾於諸事久耐、恆忍、喜樂、

爾以何議議人、則見議亦如是、爾以何度度人、則見度亦如是、

若有他害、則當以命償命、目償目、齒償齒、手償手、足償足、烙償烙、傷償傷、擊償擊、○
