另有個迹象在天上現出來：有一條大紅龍有七個頭十個角；那七個頭戴着七個冠冕；

於是我在靈境中，天使把我帶走到荒野去。我看見有一個婦人騎着朱紅色的獸、滿了褻瀆之名、有七個頭和十個角。

他們作完了他們的見證時，那從無底坑裏上來的獸必對他們作戰，勝過他們，殺死他們。

『那侍立者這麼說：「第四隻獸就是地上必有之第四個國，跟所有的國大不相同。牠必吞喫全地，踐踏它，嚼碎它。至於那十個角呢、從這國中必有十個王起來；此後必另有個王起來；跟先前所有的王都不相同；他必將三個王制伏住。他必說話頂撞至高者；必折磨至高者之聖民；想要改變節期和禮節規矩；聖民必被交付於他的手、一個時期、兩個時期、半個時期。

『那王必任意而行，自高自大超過所有的神，又說了荒謬怪誕的話來攻擊萬神之神上帝。他倒會亨通順利，直到上帝的震怒發盡；因為鐵定的事必定作成。

但以理應時地說：『我夜裏異象中在觀看着，看見天上四面的風陡然颳起、吹在大海之上。有四隻大獸從海中上來，彼此各不相同。

此後我夜間異象中在觀看着，看見第四隻獸可怕可懼，非常強壯；牠有大鐵牙，吞喫嚼碎；剩下的用腳去踹。這獸跟以前所有的獸大不相同；牠有十個角。我正在觀賞這些角，忽見它們之間又長起另一個角來，是小小的；先前的角之中有三個在這小角之前連根都被拔出來；看哪，這角有眼像人的眼，有口說着誇大的話呢。

你所看見的十個角和那獸必恨這淫婦、使她荒涼赤身，必喫她的肉，用火燒掉了她。

那時我願確實知道第四隻獸的事：牠怎樣跟那三隻獸大不相同；怎樣非常可怕；有鐵牙銅爪，吞喫嚼碎，而剩下的又用腳去踹；我又願認清牠頭上的十個角、和那另長起來的一個角；在這個角前面怎樣有三個角被牠打落；這角怎樣有眼、有口、能說誇大的話；其形狀怎樣強猛、過於牠的同類。

天使對我說：『你為甚麼驚奇呢？我要將這婦人象徵的奧祕和那馱着她的、那有七個頭十個角的獸、象徵的奧祕告訴你。你所看見的獸、先前有、如今沒有，牠將要從無底坑上來、而走向着滅亡。住在地上的人、其名字從世界創立以來沒有記在生命冊上的、見那先前有、如今沒有、將來還要有的獸、都必驚奇。這裏就是需要有智慧之心思的地方。七個頭就是七座山、婦人坐鎮的地方；又是七個王：五個已經倒了，一個還在，另一個還未來到；他來的時候，必須存留片時。那先前有、如今沒有的獸、自己是第八個，還是屬於七個之中的：他正在走向着滅亡。你所看見的十個角就是十個王；他們還沒有得國，但必跟獸同得權柄、做王一個時辰。

我看見有一個海，彷彿是個有火攙雜着的玻璃海，又看見那些得勝而脫離了獸和獸像同獸名之數目的人、都在玻璃海邊站着，執有上帝的絃琴。

永恆主發神諭說：連我、你們也不懼怕麼？在我面前、你們還不戰戰兢兢？我用沙做海的界限，永遠的定限，使它不能越犯；其水雖翻騰，卻不能得勝，其波浪雖匉訇，卻不能越過。

那時有說誇大和褻瀆話的口給了獸，也有權柄給了牠、可以行事四十二個月。牠就開口褻瀆上帝，褻瀆他的名和他榮現之幕所於天上。

不要讓人用任何方法誘惑你們；因為必先有叛教之事，然後那日子才來到，那不法之人才顯露出來，就是那自趨滅亡的人、那敵對者、那高抬自己、超高一切稱為神或受人崇拜者，甚至坐在上帝之殿堂裏、自稱為神的。

她的額上寫着名字、有象徵的奧祕：「大巴比倫、地上淫婦之母、可憎之物之母！」
