天上又出现了另一个景象。看哪！有一条大红龙，有七头十角，七头上戴着七个皇冠。

我在灵里被天使带到旷野去，看见一个妇人，骑着朱红色的兽，这兽布满了亵渎的名号，有七头十角。

他们作完了见证的时候，那从无底坑上来的兽要跟他们作战，胜过他们，把他们杀死。

“那位侍立者这样说：‘那第四只兽就是世上必有的第四国，和其他各国都不相同；它必吞吃全地，践踏咬碎全地。至于那十角，就是从这国中将要兴起的十个王，在他们以后，必有另一个王兴起，和先前的王都不相同；他必制伏三个王。他必说话，敌挡至高者；他必折磨至高者的圣民，又想改变节期和律法；圣民必交在他的手中，一载、二载、半载（“一载、二载、半载”或译：“一个时期、多个时期、半个时期”）。

“那王必任意而行，自高自大，超过所有的神，又说一些怪诞的话攻击万神之神。他必行事顺利，直到神的忿怒完毕；因为所定的事必会实现。

但以理说：“在夜间的异象中，我看见天的四风，搅动大海。“有四只巨兽从海中上来，形状各不相同。

后来，我在夜间的异象中继续观看，看见有第四只兽，非常恐怖，十分可怕，极其强壮。它有大铁牙；它吞吃咬碎，又把剩余的用脚践踏；这兽和前面的各兽都不相同；它有十个角。我正在究察这些角的时候，看见角的中间长出另一个小角来。在这小角前面，有三个先前的角连根被拔起来。这小角有眼，像人的眼，又有一张说夸大话的嘴。

你看见的十角和那兽，都要恨那淫妇，使她荒凉赤身，又要吃她的肉，用火把她烧掉。

那时我想知道有关第四只兽的实情，它和其他三兽不相同，十分恐怖，有铁牙铜爪；它吞吃咬碎，又把剩余的用脚践踏。我又想知道有关它头上的十角，和那另长出来的小角，以及那三个在这小角前面倒下的角的实情。这小角有眼，有说夸大话的嘴；它的形状比它的同类更威猛。

天使对我说：“你为什么惊奇呢？我要把这妇人的奥秘，和驮着她的那七头十角的兽的奥秘告诉你。你看见的那兽，先前在、现今不在、将来要从无底坑上来，然后走向灭亡。住在世上的人，凡是名字在创世以来没有记在生命册上的，看见了那先前在、现今不在、将来还要出现的兽，就都要惊奇。在这里需要有智慧的心。七头就是那妇人所坐的七座山，也就是七位王：五位已经倒了，一位还在，另一位还没有来到；他来的时候，必须存留一会儿。那先前在、现今不在的兽，就是第八位。他也是出于那七位中的一位的，并且正在走向灭亡。你看见的那十角，就是十王，他们还没有取得王权；但要跟兽一同得着权柄，作王一个时期。

我又看见好像有一个搀杂着火的玻璃海；也看见那些胜过了兽、兽像，以及兽名的数字的人。他们都站在玻璃海上，拿着神的琴。

‘你们连我都不惧怕吗？在我面前你们也不战兢吗？’这是耶和华的宣告。‘我以沙作海的疆界，作永远的界限，海就不能越过；波浪翻腾，却不能漫过；怒涛澎湃，仍无法逾越。

龙又给了那兽一张说夸大和亵渎话的嘴巴，也给了它权柄可以任意而行四十二个月。兽就开口向神说亵渎的话，亵渎他的名和他的帐幕，以及那些住在天上的。

不要让人用任何方法迷惑了你们，因为主的日子来到以前，必定有背道的事，并且那不法的人，就是那沉沦之子，必定显露出来。他抵挡神，抬举自己，高过一切称为神或受人敬拜的，甚至坐在神的殿中，自称为神。

她额上写着一个名号：“奥秘，大巴比伦，地上的淫妇和可憎的物之母。”
