Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring— those who keep God’s commands and hold fast their testimony about Jesus.

And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. (niv)

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (niv)

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. (niv)
