以利亞回答五十夫長、說：『我，我若是神人，那麼願火從天上降下來、燒滅你和你那五十人。』於是有火從天上降下來、燒滅了五十夫長和他那五十人。王又差遣另一個五十夫長帶着他那五十人去見以利亞。五十夫長應時對以利亞說：『神人哪、王這樣吩咐說：「你趕快下來。」』以利亞回答他們說：『我，我若是神人，那麼願火從天上降下來、燒滅你和你那五十人。』於是有上帝的火從天上降下來、燒滅了五十夫長和他那五十人。

他憑義氣為貧寒人申正義，以正直判斷國中的困苦人；他以口中的杖擊打強橫人，以嘴裏的氣殺死惡人。

因此我藉着神言人砍伐他們，我用我口中說的話殺戮他們，我的判罰如光發出。

摩西說：『由以下這個試驗、你們就可以知道：我行這一切事乃是永恆主差遣我的，並不是憑着我自己的心意的。假如這些人死、正像一切人死的樣子，或是他們所受的察罰、和一切人所受的察罰一樣，那麼、就不是永恆主差遣我了。倘若永恆主創作出一件創舉，而土地開了口，把他們和一切屬於他們的都吞下去，而他們都活活地下到陰間，那你們就知道這些人藐視了永恆主的。』摩西講完了這一切話，那些人腳下的土地就裂開；地敞開了口，就把他們和他們的家眷、跟屬可拉的一切人和財物、都吞下去。於是他們、和一切屬於他們的、都活活地下到陰間；地掩蓋着他們，他們就從大眾中滅亡了。在他們四圍的以色列眾人一聽見他們的號聲，就都逃跑，說：『恐怕地也把我們吞下去呀！』當下又有火從永恆主那裏出來，把那獻香的二百五十個人也燒滅了。

瞧吧，我今日立了你來管列邦列國，是要拔除，要拆毁，要毁滅，要傾覆，要建立，要栽植。』

在他鼻孔裏有煙往上冒，從他口中有火焚燒着；連炭也因而着起來。

因為萬軍之永恆主在榮現之後差遣了我來宣告關於那些擄掠你們、的列國之事、是這麼說的：凡觸害着你們的就是觸害着永恆主眼中的瞳人。

但是我的話、我的律例、就是我所吩咐我僕人眾神言人的、豈不是趕上而捉住了你們列祖，以致他們回轉來、說：萬軍之永恆主定意怎樣照我們的行徑和作為來辦我們，他已經照樣辦我們了』？

他就仆倒在地上，聽見有聲音對他說：『掃羅，掃羅，你為甚麼逼迫我？』他說：『先生，你是誰？』主說：『我就是你所逼迫的耶穌；

我所看見的異象、好像他來毁滅那城時我所看見的異象；那些異象正如我在迦巴魯河邊所看見的異象一樣；我就臉伏於地。
