Jesus answered,“ I tell you the solemn truth, unless a person is born of water and spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit.Do not be amazed that I said to you,‘ You must all be born from above.’The wind blows wherever it will, and you hear the sound it makes, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Then I heard the man clothed in linen who was over the waters of the river as he raised both his right and left hands to the sky and made an oath by the one who lives forever:“ It is for a time, times, and half a time. Then, when the power of the one who shatters the holy people has been exhausted, all these things will be finished.”

Then I saw thrones and seated on them were those who had been given authority to judge. I also saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of the testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. These had not worshiped the beast or his image and had refused to receive his mark on their forehead or hand. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

John replied,“ No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.
