As they continued walking and talking, a chariot of fire with horses of fire suddenly appeared and separated the two of them. Then Elijah went up into heaven in the whirlwind.

Then we who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

The time had come for the LORD to take Elijah up to heaven in a whirlwind. Elijah and Elisha were traveling from Gilgal,

made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!He also raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavens in Christ Jesus,

but those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.

And being in torment in Hades, he looked up and saw Abraham a long way off, with Lazarus at his side.

Who are these who fly like a cloud, like doves to their shelters?

“ To the one who conquers I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Show me a sign of your goodness; my enemies will see and be put to shame because you, LORD, have helped and comforted me.

Fifty men from the sons of the prophets came and stood observing them at a distance while the two of them stood by the Jordan.

Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place?
