And in his hand was a small scroll that had been opened. He stood with his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land.

He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

Then the angel I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand toward heaven.

Then I looked and saw a hand reaching out to me. It held a scroll,which he unrolled. And I saw that both sides were covered with funeral songs, words of sorrow, and pronouncements of doom.

Then the voice from heaven spoke to me again:“ Go and take the open scroll from the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”So I went to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll.“ Yes, take it and eat it,” he said.“ It will be sweet as honey in your mouth, but it will turn sour in your stomach!”So I took the small scroll from the hand of the angel, and I ate it! It was sweet in my mouth, but when I swallowed it, it turned sour in my stomach.

You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.

As I watched, the Lamb broke the first of the seven seals on the scroll. Then I heard one of the four living beings say with a voice like thunder,“ Come!”

Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals.And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice:“ Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?”But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it.Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it.But one of the twenty four elders said to me,“ Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

When the Lamb broke the second seal, I heard the second living being say,“ Come!”

Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.

In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify him. For he will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord.

that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else— not only in this world but also in the world to come.God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.

Because of me, kings reign, and rulers make just decrees.Rulers lead with my help, and nobles make righteous judgments.

Jesus came and told his disciples,“ I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.

that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
