I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

I, John, am a believer like you. I am a friend who suffers like you. As members of Jesus’ royal family, we can put up with anything that happens to us. I was on the island of Patmos because I taught God’s word and what Jesus said.

堅門徒心、勸之恆居於道、言我儕入上帝國必歷多艱、

我以此語爾、俾爾於我而安、爾在世有難、然當毅然、我已勝世矣、

乃於上帝之道、與耶穌基督之證、即凡所經見者而證之、

爾既堅忍守我之道、我亦將守爾、免乎受試之時、此時將臨於寰宇、以試凡宅地之人、

雖然、爾與我患難善矣、

然我儕望所未見者、則忍以待之、○

凡宜見虜者則見虜、以刃殺人者、則必見殺於刃、諸聖徒之忍與信在此矣、○

諸兄弟因羔之血並所證之道勝之、乃不愛己生以至於死也、

諸聖徒之忍在此矣、是乃守上帝之誡、及耶穌之道者也、○

故勿以證主與我因之被囚為恥、惟依上帝之能、與福音共患難、

我如是念爾眾宜也、蓋爾在我心、以爾於我縲絏中、及明辨而證福音之際、與我共與乎恩也、

既為子、則為嗣、即上帝嗣、與基督同為嗣、若與之同苦、亦必與之同榮、○

啟五印時、我見壇下有為上帝道及所執之證、而見殺者之靈、

對曰、我主乎、爾自知之、曰、此乃出乎大難而來、曾以羔之血滌其衣而白之矣、

其證既畢、自淵而上之獸、將與之戰、勝而殺之、

爾須忍、致爾既行上帝旨、則得其所許、

我知爾患難貧乏、而實富有、且知自謂猶太人者之謗讟、然非猶太人、乃撒但之黨、勿懼爾將受之苦、魔將投爾中數人於獄以試之、爾將受難十日、宜忠信至死、我則賜爾以維生之冕、

致我儕於上帝諸會、以爾為誇、緣爾在窘逐苦難中之忍與信也、此乃上帝義鞫之表、視爾宜乎其國、即爾為之受苦者、

我思上帝、置我儕使徒於末、如擬死者然、作劇於世、為天使與人所觀、我儕緣基督而愚、爾在基督而智、我弱爾強、爾榮我辱、迄今我儕飢渴、裹體受撻、靡有定處、且服勞躬親操作、見詬則祝、遇窘則忍、受謗則勸、成為世之污穢、物之塵垢、以迄於今、○

兄弟乎、宜恆忍以待主臨、試觀農人冀地之嘉產、恆忍以待、至得前後之雨、爾亦宜恆忍、堅乃心、蓋主之臨伊邇也、

約翰書達亞西亞之七會、願恩惠平康、自昔在今在而將來者、及其座前之七神、歸於爾曹、

凡恆於為善、求尊榮不朽者、以永生報之、結黨不從真理、而從非義者、以忿怒報之、

願主導爾之心、進於上帝之愛、及基督之忍、○

不第此也、亦樂於患難、蓋知患難生強忍、強忍生練達、練達生希望、

龍怒婦滋甚、遂往與其餘裔戰、即守上帝誡與耶穌之證者、時、龍立於海沙、

爾當共苦、如基督耶穌之勁卒、夫從軍者不以世務自累、致悅募之者、角力而不合法、則不得冕、勤勞之農必先得穀、宜思是言、蓋主將賜爾敏於庶事、當憶耶穌基督、乃大衛之裔、自死而起、依我福音、我為此受苦、至於見繫猶犯法者、然上帝之道不見繫也、故我因選民而忍諸難、使於基督耶穌而得拯救、並得永榮、我儕若與之同死、亦將與之同生、誠哉是言、若恆忍亦必與之同王、若不識之、彼亦不識我、

我遂伏其足前拜之、彼謂我曰、毋以為也、我與爾及爾諸兄弟、有耶穌之證者、同為僕、爾當拜上帝也、蓋耶穌之證、乃預言之大旨也、○
