After these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.

So Peter turned around and saw the disciple Jesus loved following them, the one who had leaned back against Jesus at the supper and asked,“ Lord, who is the one that’s going to betray you?”

But Moses said to the people,“ Don’t be afraid. Stand firm and see the LORD’s salvation that he will accomplish for you today; for the Egyptians you see today, you will never see again.

The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they became like dead men.
