Jerusalem has heard and rejoiced, and all the towns of Judah are glad because of your justice, O Lord!

因主之審判、郇城聞之、即甚歡欣、猶大城邑、城邑原文作諸女亦皆喜樂、

佳音燠西溫。靈蹟慰樹德。諸城如靜女。聞風坐相悅。

Let the people on Mount Zion rejoice. Let all the towns of Judah be glad because of your justice.

Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.

This took place to fulfill the prophecy that said,“ Tell the people of Jerusalem,‘ Look, your King is coming to you. He is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt.’”The two disciples did as Jesus commanded.They brought the donkey and the colt to him and threw their garments over the colt, and he sat on it.Most of the crowd spread their garments on the road ahead of him, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.Jesus was in the center of the procession, and the people all around him were shouting,“ Praise God for the Son of David! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Praise God in highest heaven!”

The godly will rejoice when they see injustice avenged. They will wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.

The righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,

Rejoice over her fate, O heaven and people of God and apostles and prophets! For at last God has judged her for your sakes.

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!The watchmen shout and sing with joy, for before their very eyes they see the Lord returning to Jerusalem.Let the ruins of Jerusalem break into joyful song, for the Lord has comforted his people. He has redeemed Jerusalem.The Lord has demonstrated his holy power before the eyes of all the nations. All the ends of the earth will see the victory of our God.

The Lord has sent this message to every land:“ Tell the people of Israel,‘ Look, your Savior is coming. See, he brings his reward with him as he comes.’”

Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout aloud, O Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem!For the Lord will remove his hand of judgment and will disperse the armies of your enemy. And the Lord himself, the King of Israel, will live among you! At last your troubles will be over, and you will never again fear disaster.On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be,“ Cheer up, Zion! Don’t be afraid!For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

The Lord will comfort Israel again and have pity on her ruins. Her desert will blossom like Eden, her barren wilderness like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found there. Songs of thanksgiving will fill the air.

After this, I heard what sounded like a vast crowd in heaven shouting,“ Praise the Lord! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God.His judgments are true and just. He has punished the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her immorality. He has avenged the murder of his servants.”And again their voices rang out:“ Praise the Lord! The smoke from that city ascends forever and ever!”Then the twenty four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out,“ Amen! Praise the Lord!”And from the throne came a voice that said,“ Praise our God, all his servants, all who fear him, from the least to the greatest.”Then I heard again what sounded like the shout of a vast crowd or the roar of mighty ocean waves or the crash of loud thunder:“ Praise the Lord! For the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigns.Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself.
