He is our God. We are the sheep belonging to his flock. We are the people he takes good care of. If only you would listen to his voice today.

The Holy Spirit says,“ Listen to his voice today.If you hear it, don’t be stubborn. You were stubborn when you opposed me. You did that when you were tested in the desert.There your people of long ago tested me. Yet for 40 years they saw what I did.That is why I was angry with them. I said,‘ Their hearts are always going astray. They have not known my ways.’So when I was angry, I made a promise. I said,‘ They will never enjoy the rest I planned for them.’ ”( Psalm 95:7–11)

So God again chose a certain day. He named it Today. He did this when he spoke through David a long time later. Here is what was written in the Scripture already given.“ Listen to his voice today. If you hear it, don’t be stubborn.”( Psalm 95:7, 8)

It has just been said,“ Listen to his voice today. If you hear it, don’t be stubborn. You were stubborn when you opposed me.”( Psalm 95:7, 8)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in. I will eat with that person, and they will eat with me.

“ You were like sheep wandering away.”( Isaiah 53:6) But now you have returned to the Shepherd. He is the one who watches over your souls.

This God is our God for ever and ever. He will be our guide to the very end.

God, why have you turned your back on us for so long? Why are you so angry with us? We are your very own sheep.

The Lord is my shepherd. He gives me everything I need.

Listen and come to me. Pay attention to me. Then you will live. I will make a covenant with you that will last forever. I will give you my faithful love. I promised it to David.

While Peter was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them. A voice from the cloud said,“ This is my Son, and I love him. I am very pleased with him. Listen to him!”

Keep watch over yourselves. Keep watch over all the believers. The Holy Spirit has made you leaders over them. Be shepherds of God’s church. He bought it with his own blood.

Listen! I have things to say that you can depend on. I open my lips to speak what is right.

The gatekeeper opens the gate for him. The sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.When he has brought out all his own sheep, he goes on ahead of them. His sheep follow him because they know his voice.

“ I am the Lord your God. I brought you out of Egypt. That is the land where you were slaves.

We are your people, your very own sheep. We will praise you forever. For all time to come we will keep on praising you.Shepherd of Israel, hear us. You lead the people of Joseph like a flock. You sit on your throne between the cherubim. Show your glory

The Lord and King is coming with power. He rules with a powerful arm. He has set his people free. He is bringing them back as his reward. He has won the battle over their enemies.He takes care of his flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in his arms. He carries them close to his heart. He gently leads those that have little ones.

The land produces its crops. God, our God, blesses us.

He said,“ Turn away from your sins! The kingdom of heaven has come near.”John is the one Isaiah the prophet had spoken about. He had said,“ A messenger is calling out in the desert,‘ Prepare the way for the Lord. Make straight paths for him.’ ”( Isaiah 40:3)

“ I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep know me.They know me just as the Father knows me and I know the Father. And I give my life for the sheep.I have other sheep that do not belong to this sheep pen. I must bring them in too. They also will listen to my voice. Then there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Know that the Lord is God. He made us, and we belong to him. We are his people. We are the sheep belonging to his flock.

Our God is in heaven. He does anything he wants to do.

“ This is the covenant I will make with Israel after that time,” announces the Lord.“ I will put my law in their minds. I will write it on their hearts. I will be their God. And they will be my people.

The Lord gives me strength and protects me. He has saved me. He is my God, I will praise him. He is my father’s God, and I will honor him.

Then they will know that I am with them. I am the Lord their God. And the Israelites will know that they are my people,” announces the Lord and King.“ You are my sheep. You belong to my flock. And I am your God,” announces the Lord and King.

But build one another up every day. Do it as long as there is still time. Then none of you will become stubborn. You won’t be fooled by sin’s tricks.

Instead, they longed for a better country. They wanted a heavenly one. So God is pleased when they call him their God. In fact, he has prepared a city for them.
