吾人何幸。蒙主寵愛。牧我如羊。靡有倦怠。今聞慈音。

for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice,

因此、聖神警吾人曰：『今日若聞慈音、慎毋鐵石乃心！炯戒不遠、在爾先人；率彼曠野、頻忤吾神；目擊宏猷、垂四十春；雖遭百罹、漫不知悛；厭惡斯代、疾彼頑民；執迷不反；天理莫明；吾憤乃誓、不令入吾安寧。』

迨至大維之時、年代相隔雖久、天主又假大維之口、另定一日、則今日是已；正如前引之詩所云：『今日若聞慈音、慎毋鐵石乃心！』

勿忘聖神之言：『今日若聆慈音、慎毋鐵石乃心！炯戒不遠、在爾先人；率彼曠野、頻忤吾神。』

識之哉、吾立於門而叩焉；如有聞吾之音而啟其戶者、吾必進而就之、且與之同食而對酌焉。

爾等昔為迷途之羊、今乃得歸本牧；本牧者、即爾靈魂之監督也。

細察彼宮殿。何一有毀缺。

吁嗟我恩主。胡為長不顧。何事對爾羊。炎炎熾恚怒。

主乃我之牧。所需百無憂。

言未已、倏焉景雲覆之、有聲出自雲間曰：『斯吾愛子、慰悅我心、爾曹其聽從之。』

爾其戰戰兢兢、保身保群；斯群也、即主以其寶血贖得之教會、而聖神之所以立爾為主教、以資督導也。

閽者為之啟、而群羊亦樂聞其音。凡屬己羊、彼則一一喚之以名、引之以出；待己羊皆出、乃導之行；羊諳其音、翕然從之。

俾爾所牧。稱謝不已。頌揚大德。乃至世世。

『汝其悔悟、天國伊邇。』先知意灑雅所言：『曠野有人、揚聲而呼；為主備道、正直其途；』即斯人也。

予乃良牧、識己之羊、亦為所識、正猶父之識予、予之識父也、予且為吾羊舍身致命焉。予尚有他羊、不屬此棧、亦當引之導之、若輩亦必聽從吾音、終惟一棧一牧。

於穆眞宰。天地之王。作我蒸民。仁育無疆。主為我牧。我乃其羊。

詎知吾主固在九天之上兮。行其心之所愛。

亟宜日相淬勵、乘今日未盡、發憤自新、庶幾爾中無有一人因罪惡之迷溺、而鐵石其心。

然若輩之所懷者、實有愈於本鄉、則天國是已。是故天主亦不以稱若輩之天主為恥、且早已為之備一聖邑矣。
