愚蠢之民、爾其思之、蒙昧之輩、何時為智乎、

愚蠢之人、懵然無知、何日明此理兮、

民間無知者、爾曹當悟、愚蠢之輩、爾曹何時方明、

麻木焉得仁。冥頑何時靈。

You who aren’t wise, pay attention. You foolish people, when will you become wise?

Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Think again, you fools! When will you finally catch on?

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Pay attention, you stupid ones among the people; And when will you understand, foolish ones?

Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?

Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?

Take notice of this, you ignorant people! You fools, when will you ever understand?

Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

Senseless people do not know, fools do not understand,

For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others.

there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.

At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another.

They are all senseless and foolish; they are taught by worthless wooden idols.

If only they were wise and would understand this and discern what their end will be!

“ How long will you who are simple love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge?

I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you.

You who are simple, gain prudence; you who are foolish, set your hearts on it.

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.

When its twigs are dry, they are broken off and women come and make fires with them. For this is a people without understanding; so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator shows them no favor.

I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. None of them repent of their wickedness, saying,“ What have I done?” Each pursues their own course like a horse charging into battle.Even the stork in the sky knows her appointed seasons, and the dove, the swift and the thrush observe the time of their migration. But my people do not know the requirements of the Lord.“‘ How can you say,“ We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?
