愚蠢之民、爾其思之、蒙昧之輩、何時為智乎、

愚蠢之人、懵然無知、何日明此理兮、

民間無知者、爾曹當悟、愚蠢之輩、爾曹何時方明、

麻木焉得仁。冥頑何時靈。

Take notice, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?

You who aren’t wise, pay attention. You foolish people, when will you become wise?

Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Think again, you fools! When will you finally catch on?

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?

Consider, ye brutish among the people; And ye fools, when will ye be wise?

Pay attention, you stupid people! Fools, when will you be wise?

Understand, ye brutish among the people: and[ ye] fools, when will ye be wise?

Take notice of this, you ignorant people! You fools, when will you ever understand?

Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?

A stupid person has no knowledge, Nor does a foolish person understand this:

For he sees that even wise people die; The foolish and the stupid alike perish And leave their wealth to others.

There is no one who understands, There is no one who seeks out God;

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

But they are altogether stupid and foolish; The instruction from idols is nothing but wood!

If only they were wise and they understood this; If only they would discern their future!

“ How long, you naive ones, will you love simplistic thinking? And how long will scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?

Then I was stupid and ignorant; I was like an animal before You.

You naive ones, understand prudence; And, you fools, understand wisdom!

One who loves discipline loves knowledge, But one who hates rebuke is stupid.

When its limbs are dry, they are broken off; Women come and make a fire with them, For they are not a people of discernment, Therefore their Maker will not have compassion on them. And their Creator will not be gracious to them.

I have listened and heard, They have spoken what is not right; No one repented of his wickedness, Saying,‘ What have I done?’ Everyone turned to his own course, Like a horse charging into the battle.Even the stork in the sky Knows her seasons; And the turtledove, the swallow, and the crane Keep to the time of their migration; But My people do not know The judgment of the Lord.“ How can you say,‘ We are wise, And the Law of the Lord is with us’? But behold, the lying pen of the scribes Has made it into a lie.
