Unless the Lord had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

Suppose the Lord had not helped me. Then I would soon have been lying quietly in the grave.

You pushed me hard to make me fall, but the Lord helped me.

It is not the dead who praise the Lord, nor any of those descending into the silence of death.

Look to the right and see: no one stands up for me; there is no refuge for me; no one cares about me.I cry to You, Lord; I say,“ You are my shelter, my portion in the land of the living.”

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion. It cannot be shaken; it remains forever.
