Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord, the one you teach from your law;

Lord, blessed is the person you correct. Blessed is the person you teach from your law.

Joyful are those you discipline, Lord, those you teach with your instructions.

LORD, how happy is anyone you discipline and teach from your law

Blessed is the man whom You discipline, Lord, And whom You teach from Your Law,

Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law,

Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O Jehovah, And teachest out of thy law;

Lord, happy is the man You discipline and teach from Your law

Blessed[ is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;

How blessed is the one whom you instruct, O LORD, the one whom you teach from your law,

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, Yah, and teach out of your law,

My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,for the Lord reproves him whom he loves, as a father the son in whom he delights.

“ Behold, blessed is the one whom God reproves; therefore despise not the discipline of the Almighty.

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?“ My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.

then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings,that he may turn man aside from his deed and conceal pride from a man;he keeps back his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword.“ Man is also rebuked with pain on his bed and with continual strife in his bones,so that his life loathes bread, and his appetite the choicest food.His flesh is so wasted away that it cannot be seen, and his bones that were not seen stick out.His soul draws near the pit, and his life to those who bring death.If there be for him an angel, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him,and he is merciful to him, and says,‘ Deliver him from going down into the pit; I have found a ransom;let his flesh become fresh with youth; let him return to the days of his youthful vigor’;

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.

Know then in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, the Lord your God disciplines you.

The voice of the Lord cries to the city— and it is sound wisdom to fear your name:“ Hear of the rod and of him who appointed it!
