他站在死人與活人之間，疫症就被制住了。

保護你的是永恆主，蔭庇你的是永恆主在你右邊。白天日頭必不傷你，夜裏月亮必不害你。

你們將要聽見戰爭和戰爭的風聲；小心吧，別驚慌了；因為這是必須有的；但還不是末終。因為外邦必起來攻打外邦，國必攻打國；許多地方必有饑荒和地震：

都喫了一樣的靈食，也都喝了一樣的靈飲，從隨行着的屬靈磐石上喝的：那磐石就是上帝所膏立者基督。然而他們大多數人、上帝並不喜悅：他們都在野地覆亡了。這些事做了我們的鑑戒，是要使我們不做貪婪惡事的人，像他們那樣貪婪。你們也不要做拜偶像的，像他們有人、如經上所記『人民坐下喫喝，起來遊戲』那樣。我們也不要淫亂，像他們有人淫亂，一天就倒斃了二萬三千人！我們也不要故意試探主，像他們有人試探了，就被蛇所滅。你們也不要唧唧咕咕地埋怨，像他們有人唧咕埋怨了，就被毁滅者所滅。

就在那一天夜裏、永恆主的使者就出來，在亞述營中擊殺了十八萬五千人；第二天早晨、人清早起來，哎呀，都是死屍。

到了半夜，永恆主擊殺了埃及地一切頭胎生的；從坐王位的法老的長子、到在地牢裏的俘虜的長子，以及所有頭胎的牲口，都擊殺了。法老和眾臣僕、跟埃及眾人、夜裏起來：全埃及都大哀號，因為沒有一家不死一個人的。

永恆主把瘟疫降在以色列中；從早晨到所定的時候，從但直到別是巴、民間死了七萬人。
