Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

你不怕黑夜中的恐怖，白日間的飛箭；

你必不怕夜間的恐懼，或是白天飛來的箭；

夜之驚駭、晝之飛矢、

夕有患難、晝有流矢、中宵遘疾疫、亭午逢喪敗、爾俱無所畏兮、

使爾不懼黑夜之震驚、白晝之飛箭、

夜間無有諸恐怖。白日無慮中飛箭。

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night. You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day.

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

You will not be afraid of the terror by night, Or of the arrow that flies by day;

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

You need not fear the terrors of the night, the arrow that flies by day,

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day,

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

From six disasters he will rescue you; even in the seventh, he will keep you from evil.He will save you from death in time of famine, from the power of the sword in time of war.You will be safe from slander and have no fear when destruction comes.You will laugh at destruction and famine; wild animals will not terrify you.You will be at peace with the stones of the field, and its wild animals will be at peace with you.You will know that your home is safe. When you survey your possessions, nothing will be missing.You will have many children; your descendants will be as plentiful as grass!You will go to the grave at a ripe old age, like a sheaf of grain harvested at the proper time!“ We have studied life and found all this to be true. Listen to my counsel, and apply it to yourself.”

So we can say with confidence,“ The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”

They keep you safe on your way, and your feet will not stumble.You can go to bed without fear; you will lie down and sleep soundly.You need not be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked,

I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me.I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.

They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?When evil people come to devour me, when my enemies and foes attack me, they will stumble and fall.Though a mighty army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid. Even if I am attacked, I will remain confident.

The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions.

So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Jesus responded,“ Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

It came to me in a disturbing vision at night, when people are in a deep sleep.Fear gripped me, and my bones trembled.A spirit swept past my face, and my hair stood on end.

For the Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the clatter of speeding chariots and the galloping of horses and the sounds of a great army approaching.“ The king of Israel has hired the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us!” they cried to one another.

My mind reels and my heart races. I longed for evening to come, but now I am terrified of the dark.

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’

They are all skilled swordsmen, experienced warriors. Each wears a sword on his thigh, ready to defend the king against an attack in the night.

“ Understand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken into.

The murderer rises in the early dawn to kill the poor and needy; at night he is a thief.The adulterer waits for the twilight, saying,‘ No one will see me then.’ He hides his face so no one will know him.Thieves break into houses at night and sleep in the daytime. They are not acquainted with the light.

He has drawn his bow and made me the target for his arrows.He shot his arrows deep into my heart.

For the Almighty has struck me down with his arrows. Their poison infects my spirit. God’s terrors are lined up against me.
