你不怕黑夜中的恐怖，白日間的飛箭；

你必不怕夜間的恐懼，或是白天飛來的箭；

夜之驚駭、晝之飛矢、

夕有患難、晝有流矢、中宵遘疾疫、亭午逢喪敗、爾俱無所畏兮、

使爾不懼黑夜之震驚、白晝之飛箭、

夜間無有諸恐怖。白日無慮中飛箭。

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

You won’t have to be afraid of the terrors that come during the night. You won’t have to fear the arrows that come at you during the day.

You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day.

You will not fear the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day,

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night, Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

You need not fear the terrors of the night, the arrow that flies by day,

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.

In six troubles He will save you; Even in seven, evil will not touch you.In famine He will redeem you from death, And in war, from the power of the sword.You will be hidden from the scourge of the tongue, And you will not be afraid of violence when it comes.You will laugh at violence and hunger, And you will not be afraid of wild animals.For you will be in league with the stones of the field, And the animals of the field will be at peace with you.You will know that your tent is secure, For you will visit your home and have nothing missing.You will also know that your descendants will be many, And your offspring as the grass of the earth.You will come to the grave at a ripe age, Like the stacking of grain in its season.Behold this; we have investigated it, and so it is. Hear it, and know for yourself.”

so that we confidently say,“ The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

Then you will walk in your way securely, And your foot will not stumble.When you lie down, you will not be afraid; When you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.Do not be afraid of sudden danger, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes;

I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me.I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me all around.

He will not fear bad news; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom should I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom should I dread?When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.If an army encamps against me, My heart will not fear; If war arises against me, In spite of this I am confident.

The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth shakes And the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

He* said to them,“ Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

Amid disquieting thoughts from visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on people,Dread came upon me, and trembling, And made all my bones shake.Then a spirit passed by my face; The hair of my flesh stood up.

For the Lord had made the army of the Arameans hear a sound of chariots, a sound of horses, that is, the sound of a great army; and they said to one another,“ Behold, the king of Israel has hired the kings of the Hittites and the kings of the Egyptians against us, to attack us!”

My mind reels, horror overwhelms me; The twilight I longed for has been turned into trembling for me.

But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your soul is demanded of you; and as for all that you have prepared, who will own it now?’

All of them are wielders of the sword, Expert in war; Each man has his sword at his side, Guarding against the terrors of the night.

“ But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

The murderer arises at dawn; He kills the poor and the needy, And at night he is like a thief.The eye of the adulterer watches for twilight, Saying,‘ No eye will see me.’ And he disguises his face.In the darkness they dig into houses, They shut themselves up by day; They do not know the light.

He bent His bow And took aim at me as a target for the arrow.He made the arrows of His quiver Enter my inward parts.

For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, My spirit drinks their poison; The terrors of God line up against me.
