爾衝人若大水、彼如寢寐、如朝生之草兮、

人之沒世、譬諸夢寐、譬諸草之萌櫱兮、

主使人逝世如水之流、亦使之如睡、青年如草、速然凋殘、

又如中宵夢。夢醒更已易。

Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death— they are like the new grass of the morning:

Yet you sweep people away, and they die. They are like new grass that grows in the morning.

You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning:

You sweep people away like dreams that disappear. They are like grass that springs up in the morning.

You end their lives; they sleep. They are like grass that grows in the morning—

You have swept them away like a flood, they fall asleep; In the morning they are like grass that sprouts anew.

You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:

You end their lives; they sleep. They are like grass that grows in the morning—

You bring their lives to an end and they“ fall asleep.” In the morning they are like the grass that sprouts up;

You sweep them away as they sleep. In the morning they sprout like new grass.

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh[ is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof[ is] as the flower of the field:

As a dream when[ one] awaketh;[ so], O Lord, when thou awakest, thou shalt despise their image.

[ As for] man, his days[ are] as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.

Which were cut down out of time, whose foundation was overflown with a flood:

For all flesh[ is] as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

Terrors take hold on him as waters, a tempest stealeth him away in the night.The east wind carrieth him away, and he departeth: and as a storm hurleth him out of his place.

They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle[ that] hasteth to the prey.

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many,[ even] the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach[ even] to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night.

But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.It shall even be as when an hungry[ man] dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold,[ he is] faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

Who[ is] this[ that] cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?Egypt riseth up like a flood, and[ his] waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up,[ and] will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
