O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.

Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished.

My enemies have been destroyed forever. You have leveled their cities to the ground. Even the memory of them is gone.

The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins; their cities you rooted out; the very memory of them has perished.

Hast thou not heard long ago[ how] I have done it,[ and] of ancient times that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fenced cities[ into] ruinous heaps.

Then shalt thou say, O LORD, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book,[ that] thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far[ are] the words of Jeremiah.

The last enemy[ that] shall be destroyed[ is] death.

And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take[ it]; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.O death, where[ is] thy sting? O grave, where[ is] thy victory?The sting of death[ is] sin; and the strength of sin[ is] the law.But thanks[ be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

[ That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof;[ that] opened not the house of his prisoners?

I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but[ it is] in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.

Behold, I[ am] against thee, O destroying mountain, saith the LORD, which destroyest all the earth: and I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and roll thee down from the rocks, and will make thee a burnt mountain.

He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted,[ and] none hindereth.The whole earth is at rest,[ and] is quiet: they break forth into singing.Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee,[ and] the cedars of Lebanon,[ saying], Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

Fear and dread shall fall upon them; by the greatness of thine arm they shall be[ as] still as a stone; till thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over,[ which] thou hast purchased.

The face of the LORD[ is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

And when the men of Israel that[ were] on the other side of the valley, and[ they] that[ were] on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook the cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

Then[ she that is] mine enemy shall see[ it], and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
