You rule over the surging sea; when its waves mount up, you still them.

And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.The LORD on high[ is] mightier than the noise of many waters,[ yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea.

For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.And his disciples came to[ him], and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Or[ who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth,[ as if] it had issued out of the womb?When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,And brake up for it my decreed[ place], and set bars and doors,And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?

He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.

And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.

Come and see the works of God:[ he is] terrible[ in his] doing toward the children of men.He turned the sea into dry[ land]: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
