Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping.So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying,“ Lord, save us! We’re going to die!”But He said to them,“ Why are you fearful, you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm.The men were amazed and asked,“ What kind of man is this?— even the winds and the sea obey Him!”

He got up, rebuked the wind, and said to the sea,“ Silence! Be still!” The wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Who enclosed the sea behind doors when it burst from the womb,when I made the clouds its garment and thick darkness its blanket,when I determined its boundaries and put its bars and doors in place,when I declared:“ You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here”?

He rebukes the sea so that it dries up, and He makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither; even the flower of Lebanon withers.

When they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

Come and see the wonders of God; His acts for humanity are awe-inspiring.He turned the sea into dry land, and they crossed the river on foot. There we rejoiced in Him.
