1 Kings 12 16-1 Kings 12 20
When all Israel realized that the king had refused to listen to them, they responded,“ Down with the dynasty of David! We have no interest in the son of Jesse. Back to your homes, O Israel! Look out for your own house, O David!” So the people of Israel returned home. But Rehoboam continued to rule over the Israelites who lived in the towns of Judah.King Rehoboam sent Adoniram, who was in charge of forced labor, to restore order, but the people of Israel stoned him to death. When this news reached King Rehoboam, he quickly jumped into his chariot and fled to Jerusalem. And to this day the northern tribes of Israel have refused to be ruled by a descendant of David. When the people of Israel learned of Jeroboam’s return from Egypt, they called an assembly and made him king over all Israel. So only the tribe of Judah remained loyal to the family of David.

2 Thessalonians 2 3-2 Thessalonians 2 10
Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed— the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.Don’t you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you?And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them.

1 Kings 14 25-1 Kings 14 28
In the fifth year of King Rehoboam’s reign, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem. He ransacked the treasuries of the Lord’s Temple and the royal palace; he stole everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.King Rehoboam later replaced them with bronze shields as substitutes, and he entrusted them to the care of the commanders of the guard who protected the entrance to the royal palace.Whenever the king went to the Temple of the Lord, the guards would also take the shields and then return them to the guardroom.

Daniel 7:20-25
I also asked about the ten horns on the fourth beast’s head and the little horn that came up afterward and destroyed three of the other horns. This horn had seemed greater than the others, and it had human eyes and a mouth that was boasting arrogantly. As I watched, this horn was waging war against God’s holy people and was defeating them, until the Ancient One— the Most High— came and judged in favor of his holy people. Then the time arrived for the holy people to take over the kingdom. Then he said to me,“ This fourth beast is the fourth world power that will rule the earth. It will be different from all the others. It will devour the whole world, trampling and crushing everything in its path. Its ten horns are ten kings who will rule that empire. Then another king will arise, different from the other ten, who will subdue three of them.He will defy the Most High and oppress the holy people of the Most High. He will try to change their sacred festivals and laws, and they will be placed under his control for a time, times, and half a time.

Lamentations 4:1-2
How the gold has lost its luster! Even the finest gold has become dull. The sacred gemstones lie scattered in the streets!See how the precious children of Jerusalem, worth their weight in fine gold, are now treated like pots of clay made by a common potter.

1 Samuel 4 21-1 Samuel 4 22
She named the child Ichabod( which means“ Where is the glory?”), for she said,“ Israel’s glory is gone.” She named him this because the Ark of God had been captured and because her father in law and husband were dead. Then she said,“ The glory has departed from Israel, for the Ark of God has been captured.”

You have renounced your covenant with him; you have thrown his crown in the dust.
