But you have rejected, you have spurned, you have been very angry with your anointed one.

But you have turned your back on your anointed king. You have been very angry with him.

But now you have rejected him and cast him off. You are angry with your anointed king.

But you have spurned and rejected him; you have become enraged with your anointed.

But You have rejected and refused, You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.

But You have cast off and abhorred, You have been furious with Your anointed.

But thou hast cast off and rejected, Thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

But You have spurned and rejected him; You have become enraged with Your anointed.

But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thine anointed.

But you have spurned and rejected him; you are angry with your chosen king.

But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed.

“ The Lord saw it and spurned them, because of the provocation of his sons and his daughters.

“ And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve him with a whole heart and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts and understands every plan and thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.

with which your enemies mock, O Lord, with which they mock the footsteps of your anointed.

“ You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain upon you, nor fields of offerings! For there the shield of the mighty was defiled, the shield of Saul, not anointed with oil.

Behold our shield, O God; look on the face of your anointed!

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who stands next to me,” declares the Lord of hosts.“ Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones.

My God will reject them because they have not listened to him; they shall be wanderers among the nations.

When God heard, he was full of wrath, and he utterly rejected Israel.

In one month I destroyed the three shepherds. But I became impatient with them, and they also detested me.

Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage;

But you have rejected us and disgraced us and have not gone out with our armies.You have made us turn back from the foe, and those who hate us have gotten spoil.You have made us like sheep for slaughter and have scattered us among the nations.You have sold your people for a trifle, demanding no high price for them.You have made us the taunt of our neighbors, the derision and scorn of those around us.You have made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the peoples.All day long my disgrace is before me, and shame has covered my faceat the sound of the taunter and reviler, at the sight of the enemy and the avenger.All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten you, and we have not been false to your covenant.Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from your way;yet you have broken us in the place of jackals and covered us with the shadow of death.If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god,would not God discover this? For he knows the secrets of the heart.Yet for your sake we are killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.Awake! Why are you sleeping, O Lord? Rouse yourself! Do not reject us forever!Why do you hide your face? Why do you forget our affliction and oppression?For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly clings to the ground.Rise up; come to our help! Redeem us for the sake of your steadfast love!

The Lord has scorned his altar, disowned his sanctuary; he has delivered into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces; they raised a clamor in the house of the Lord as on the day of festival.

“ Will the Lord spurn forever, and never again be favorable?

When the rule of Rehoboam was established and he was strong, he abandoned the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.In the fifth year of King Rehoboam, because they had been unfaithful to the Lord, Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalemwith 1,200 chariots and 60,000 horsemen. And the people were without number who came with him from Egypt— Libyans, Sukkiim, and Ethiopians.And he took the fortified cities of Judah and came as far as Jerusalem.Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and to the princes of Judah, who had gathered at Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said to them,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ You abandoned me, so I have abandoned you to the hand of Shishak.’”Then the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said,“ The Lord is righteous.”When the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah:“ They have humbled themselves. I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out on Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.Nevertheless, they shall be servants to him, that they may know my service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.”So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem. He took away the treasures of the house of the Lord and the treasures of the king’s house. He took away everything. He also took away the shields of gold that Solomon had made,and King Rehoboam made in their place shields of bronze and committed them to the hands of the officers of the guard, who kept the door of the king’s house.And as often as the king went into the house of the Lord, the guard came and carried them and brought them back to the guardroom.And when he humbled himself the wrath of the Lord turned from him, so as not to make a complete destruction. Moreover, conditions were good in Judah.

Righteous are you, O Lord, when I complain to you; yet I would plead my case before you. Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all who are treacherous thrive?

O God, you have rejected us, broken our defenses; you have been angry; oh, restore us.

The breath of our nostrils, the Lord’s anointed, was captured in their pits, of whom we said,“ Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.”

But if he says,‘ I have no pleasure in you,’ behold, here I am, let him do to me what seems good to him.”

Have you not rejected us, O God? You do not go forth, O God, with our armies.
