I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;

So Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the Lord, and did not follow the Lord fully, as his father David had done.

“ You only have I known among all the families of the earth; Therefore I will punish you for all your wrongdoing.”

Then the Lord raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was of the royal line in Edom.

But go now, lead the people where I told you. Behold, My angel shall go before you; nevertheless on the day when I punish, I will punish them for their sin.”

But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
