昔爾顯厥異象、諭爾愛僕、曰、維彼傑士、余所眷佑、在兆民間、余遴選之、登庸之兮、

當初主在默示中應許虔誠人云、我施恩以助英雄、我升舉民中被選者、

義塞之恩主。吾族所托庇。

Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful people you said:“ I have bestowed strength on a warrior; I have raised up a young man from among the people.

You once spoke to your faithful people in a vision. You said,“ I have given strength to a soldier. I have raised up a young man from among the people.

Of old you spoke in a vision to your godly one, and said:“ I have granted help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said,“ I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.

You once spoke in a vision to your faithful ones and said,“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then You spoke in a vision to Your holy one, And said:“ I have given help to one who is mighty; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy saints, And saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people.

You once spoke in a vision to Your loyal ones and said:“ I have granted help to a warrior; I have exalted one chosen from the people.

Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon[ one that is] mighty; I have exalted[ one] chosen out of the people.

Then you spoke through a vision to your faithful followers and said:“ I have energized a warrior; I have raised up a young man from the people.

Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said,“ I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.

Nevertheless I will not take the whole kingdom out of his hand, but I will make him ruler all the days of his life, for the sake of My servant David whom I chose, who kept My commandments and My statutes;

Then one of the young men responded and said,“ Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite who is a skillful musician, a valiant mighty man, a warrior, skillful in speech, and a handsome man; and the Lord is with him.”

for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of His suffering death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings.For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for this reason He is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters,saying,“ I will proclaim Your name to My brothers, In the midst of the assembly I will sing Your praise.”And again,“ I will put My trust in Him.” And again,“ Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, so that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,and free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.For clearly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendants of Abraham.Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long,“ Where is your God?”

Now then, this is what you shall say to My servant David:‘ This is what the Lord of armies says:“ I Myself took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be leader over My people Israel.And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have eliminated all your enemies from you; I will also make a great name for you, like the names of the great men who are on the earth.And I will establish a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, so that they may live in their own place and not be disturbed again, nor will malicious people oppress them anymore as previously,even from the day that I appointed judges over My people Israel; and I will give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord also declares to you that the Lord will make a house for you.When your days are finished and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come from you, and I will establish his kingdom.He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he does wrong, I will discipline him with a rod of men and with strokes of sons of mankind,but My favor shall not depart from him, as I took it away from Saul, whom I removed from you.Your house and your kingdom shall endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.” ’ ”In accordance with all these words and all of this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

“ I have made a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to My servant David,

Just as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient times—

For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

And even the one who is valiant, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will completely despair; for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and those who are with him are valiant men.

saying,“ What business do you have with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are: the Holy One of God!”

Now the Lord said to Samuel,“ How long are you going to mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and go; I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, because I have chosen a king for Myself among his sons.”

who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond servant and being born in the likeness of men.And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
