I am overwhelmed with troubles and my life draws near to death.

I have so many troubles I’m about to die.

For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol.

For I have had enough troubles, and my life is near Sheol.

For my soul has had enough troubles, And my life has approached Sheol.

For my soul is full of troubles, And my life draws near to the grave.

For my soul is full of troubles, And my life draweth nigh unto Sheol.

For I have had enough troubles, and my life is near Sheol.

For my soul is full of troubles: and my life draweth nigh unto the grave.

For my life is filled with troubles and I am ready to enter Sheol.

For my soul is full of troubles. My life draws near to Sheol.

They couldn’t stand the thought of food, and they were knocking on death’s door.

He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed.He told them,“ My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

My enemy has chased me. He has knocked me to the ground and forces me to live in darkness like those in the grave.I am losing all hope; I am paralyzed with fear.

Don’t hide from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in deep trouble!Come and redeem me; free me from my enemies.You know of my shame, scorn, and disgrace. You see all that my enemies are doing.Their insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. If only one person would show some pity; if only one would turn and comfort me.But instead, they give me poison for food; they offer me sour wine for my thirst.

He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care.

He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and he became anguished and distressed.He told them,“ My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying,“ My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”

But it was the Lord’s good plan to crush him and cause him grief. Yet when his life is made an offering for sin, he will have many descendants. He will enjoy a long life, and the Lord’s good plan will prosper in his hands.When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous, for he will bear all their sins.

Do not stay so far from me, for trouble is near, and no one else can help me.My enemies surround me like a herd of bulls; fierce bulls of Bashan have hemmed me in!Like lions they open their jaws against me, roaring and tearing into their prey.My life is poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax, melting within me.My strength has dried up like sunbaked clay. My tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. You have laid me in the dust and left me for dead.My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet.I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat.They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing.O Lord, do not stay far away! You are my strength; come quickly to my aid!Save me from the sword; spare my precious life from these dogs.Snatch me from the lion’s jaws and from the horns of these wild oxen.

Their ships were tossed to the heavens and plunged again to the depths; the sailors cringed in terror.

When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.

“ If my misery could be weighed and my troubles be put on the scales,they would outweigh all the sands of the sea. That is why I spoke impulsively.For the Almighty has struck me down with his arrows. Their poison infects my spirit. God’s terrors are lined up against me.

O Lord, why do you reject me? Why do you turn your face from me?I have been sick and close to death since my youth. I stand helpless and desperate before your terrors.

They are at death’s door; the angels of death wait for them.

He has filled me with bitterness and given me a bitter cup of sorrow to drink.He has made me chew on gravel. He has rolled me in the dust.Peace has been stripped away, and I have forgotten what prosperity is.I cry out,“ My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the Lord is lost!”The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words.
