All day long they surround me like a flood; they have completely engulfed me.

I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken[ me] by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.

They came[ upon me] as a wide breaking in[ of waters]: in the desolation they rolled themselves[ upon me].Terrors are turned upon me: they pursue my soul as the wind: and my welfare passeth away as a cloud.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.They compassed me about; yea, they compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
