基甸對他說：『我若在你面前蒙恩，求你為我顯個神迹，證實是你同我說話。

你這使我經見了多而慘惡之患難的、你必使我活過來，使我從地府之最低處再上來。求你加多我的快樂，又轉而安慰我。

但你呢、永恆主啊，求你恩待我，使我起來，好報復他們。由此我便知道你喜愛我，都因我仇敵不能向我誇勝歡呼。

我曾切切等候着永恆主；他傾向於我，聽我的呼救。

願我的對頭穿上羞辱；願他們以自己的慚愧為外袍而披上。

把這樣的人放給撒但，去讓他的肉體死滅，好讓他的靈在主的日子得以獲救。

希西家也曾經問說：『我能上永恆主的殿、有甚麼兆頭啊？』

我的仇敵啊，你不要因着我而沾沾自喜！我雖然跌倒了，卻要起來；我雖坐在黑暗裏，永恆主卻做我的光。因為我犯罪得罪了永恆主，永恆主的震怒、我必擔受，直到他為我的案件而伸訴，他維護我的權利；那時他必領我出去、到亮光中，我就得見他的義氣。那時我的仇敵、就是那譏笑我說：『永恆主你的上帝在哪裏？』的、一看見，就必被慚愧籠罩着；我必親眼見到她遭報；這時她就被踐踏，如同街上的泥土。

求你不要在我年老時丟掉我；不要在我力氣消盡時將我撇下。因為我的仇敵議論我；那些窺察着、要害我性命的、一同商議，說：『上帝已經離棄了他；追趕他吧；捉住他吧！因為沒有人援救。』上帝啊，不要遠離我；我的上帝啊，趕快幫助我！願那些控告我的、慚愧而消沒；願那些謀求害我的、披上侮辱羞慚。

我們的標幟我們不見了；不再有神言人了；我們中間也沒有人知道這災禍要到幾時。
