God, arrogant men have risen up against me, And a gang of violent men have sought my life, And they have not set You before them.

上帝歟、驕傲之輩、起而攻我、強暴之黨、索我之命、目中無爾兮、

上帝兮、驕矜之輩、起而叛余、強悍之黨、謀害我命、彼不敬畏爾兮。

天主歟、驕傲之人、群起攻擊我、強橫之黨類、欲索我命、彼皆目中無天主、

驕人悻悻。逞其狂傲。群逆結黨。恣其凶暴。目中無主。哀哉不肖。

Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God; ruthless people are trying to kill me— they have no regard for you.

God, proud people are attacking me. A gang of mean people is trying to kill me. They don’t care about you.

O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them.

O God, insolent people rise up against me; a violent gang is trying to kill me. You mean nothing to them.

God, arrogant people have attacked me; a gang of ruthless men intends to kill me. They do not let you guide them.

O God, the proud have risen against me, And a mob of violent men have sought my life, And have not set You before them.

O God, the proud are risen up against me, And a company of violent men have sought after my soul, And have not set thee before them.

God, arrogant people have attacked me; a gang of ruthless men seeks my life. They have no regard for You.

O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent[ men] have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.

The arrogant have dug pits for me, People who are not in accord with Your Law.

May the foot of pride not come upon me, And may the hand of the wicked not drive me away.

He says to himself,“ God has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”

Then Absalom said to Ahithophel,“ Give your advice. What should we do?”Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Have relations with your father’s concubines, whom he has left behind to take care of the house; then all Israel will hear that you have made yourself repulsive to your father. The hands of all who are with you will also be strengthened.”So they pitched a tent for Absalom on the roof, and Absalom had relations with his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.Now the advice of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was taken as though one inquired of the word of God; so was all the advice of Ahithophel regarded by both David and Absalom.Furthermore, Ahithophel said to Absalom,“ Please let me choose twelve thousand men and let me set out and pursue David tonight.

Why has the wicked treated God disrespectfully? He has said to himself,“ You will not require an account.”

Wrongdoing speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes.

Then Absalom and all the men of Israel said,“ The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had ordained to foil the good advice of Ahithophel, in order for the Lord to bring disaster on Absalom.

Do all the workers of injustice not know, Who devour my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon the Lord?

The arrogant utterly deride me, Yet I do not turn aside from Your Law.

Then He said to me,“ Do you see, son of man, what the elders of the house of Israel are doing in the dark, each man in the rooms of his carved images? For they say,‘ The Lord does not see us; the Lord has abandoned the land.’ ”

At that time the chief priests and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest named Caiaphas;and they plotted together to arrest Jesus covertly and kill Him.

Now it came about after this that Absalom provided for himself a chariot and horses, and fifty men to run ahead of him.And Absalom used to rise early and stand beside the road to the gate; and when any man who had a lawsuit was to come before the king for judgment, Absalom would call out to him and say,“ From what city are you?” And he would say,“ Your servant is from one of the tribes of Israel.”Then Absalom would say to him,“ See, your claims are good and right, but you have no one to listen to you on the part of the king.”Moreover, Absalom would say,“ Oh that someone would appoint me judge in the land, then every man who has a lawsuit or claim could come to me, and I would give him justice!”And whenever a man approached to prostrate himself before him, he would put out his hand and take hold of him and kiss him.Absalom dealt this way with all Israel who came to the king for judgment; so Absalom stole the hearts of the people of Israel.Now it came about at the end of four years that Absalom said to the king,“ Please let me go and pay my vow which I have made to the Lord, in Hebron.For your servant made a vow while I was living in Geshur in Aram, saying,‘ If the Lord will indeed bring me back to Jerusalem, then I will serve the Lord.’ ”The king said to him,“ Go in peace.” So he got up and went to Hebron.But Absalom sent spies throughout the tribes of Israel, saying,“ As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say,‘ Absalom is king in Hebron!’ ”Then two hundred men went with Absalom from Jerusalem, who were invited and went innocently, for they did not know anything.And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong, for the people continually increased with Absalom.

Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death;and they bound Him and led Him away, and handed Him over to Pilate the governor.

For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel,to do whatever Your hand and purpose predestined to occur.

The wicked, in his haughtiness, does not seek Him. There is no God in all his schemes.

The proud have hidden a trap for me, and snares; They have spread a net at the wayside; They have set snares for me. Selah

Then He said to me,“ The guilt of the house of Israel and Judah is very, very great, and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of perversion; for they say,‘ The Lord has abandoned the land, and the Lord does not see!’

The arrogant have forged a lie against me; With all my heart I will comply with Your precepts.
