如焚林之火、如燎山之焰、

如火焚於林、如焰燎於山兮、

如烈火焚燒林樹、如火燄烘燎山岡、

願主使彼如糠粃。隨風飄蕩無寧息。

As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze,

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest Sheol, And devoureth the earth with its increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains.

For wickedness burneth as the fire; it devoureth the briers and thorns; yea, it kindleth in the thickets of the forest, and they roll upward in a column of smoke.

For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly as dry stubble.

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might quake at thy presence,as when fire kindleth the brushwood, and the fire causeth the waters to boil; to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

and say to the forest of the South, Hear the word of Jehovah: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby.And all flesh shall see that I, Jehovah, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.

Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.

Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
