使鄰邦為我而爭、我敵相笑兮、

鄰里用力以攻予、仇敵出言以哂予、皆爾所使兮。

使鄰邦皆爭奪我國、使敵人皆戲笑我、

爾民日戚戚。涕淚充飲食。

You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us.

You have let our neighbors mock us. Our enemies laugh at us.

You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us the scorn of neighboring nations. Our enemies treat us as a joke.

You put us at odds with our neighbors; our enemies mock us.

You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors; And our enemies laugh among themselves.

You make us quarrel with our neighbors; our enemies make fun of us.

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

For wasn’t Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.

When their hearts were merry, they said,“ Call for Samson, that he may entertain us.” They called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. They set him between the pillars;

Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me, a man of strife, and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them curses me.

Now therefore, please make a pledge to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to set riders on them.

But Rabshakeh said,“ Has my master sent me only to your master and to you, to speak these words, and not to the men who sit on the wall, who will eat their own dung and drink their own urine with you?”Then Rabshakeh stood, and called out with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and said,“ Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!The king says,‘ Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you; for he will not be able to deliver you.Don’t let Hezekiah make you trust in Yahweh, saying,“ Yahweh will surely deliver us. This city won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”’Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for the king of Assyria says,‘ Make your peace with me, and come out to me; and each of you eat from his vine, and each one from his fig tree, and each one of you drink the waters of his own cistern;until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying,“ Yahweh will deliver us.” Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they delivered Samaria from my hand?Who are they among all the gods of these countries that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Yahweh should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’”

therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: The Lord Yahweh says to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are all around;

Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
