使鄰邦為我而爭、我敵相笑兮、

鄰里用力以攻予、仇敵出言以哂予、皆爾所使兮。

使鄰邦皆爭奪我國、使敵人皆戲笑我、

爾民日戚戚。涕淚充飲食。

You have let our neighbors mock us. Our enemies laugh at us.

You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us the scorn of neighboring nations. Our enemies treat us as a joke.

You put us at odds with our neighbors; our enemies mock us.

You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors; And our enemies laugh among themselves.

We are objects of contempt to our neighbors, of scorn and derision to those around us.

Was not Israel the object of your ridicule? Was she caught among thieves, that you shake your head in scorn whenever you speak of her?

He cannot deliver you!Do not let Hezekiah persuade you to trust in the Lord when he says,‘ The Lord will surely deliver us; this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.’“ Do not listen to Hezekiah. This is what the king of Assyria says: Make peace with me and come out to me. Then each of you will eat fruit from your own vine and fig tree and drink water from your own cistern,until I come and take you to a land like your own— a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.“ Do not let Hezekiah mislead you when he says,‘ The Lord will deliver us.’ Have the gods of any nations ever delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my hand?Who of all the gods of these countries have been able to save their lands from me? How then can the Lord deliver Jerusalem from my hand?”

therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Sovereign Lord: This is what the Sovereign Lord says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and the deserted towns that have been plundered and ridiculed by the rest of the nations around you—

The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
