你使我們做鄰國搖頭的對象；我們的仇敵嗤笑着我們。

你使我們成為鄰國紛爭的對象，我們的仇敵也都嘲笑我們。

使鄰邦為我而爭、我敵相笑兮、

鄰里用力以攻予、仇敵出言以哂予、皆爾所使兮。

使鄰邦皆爭奪我國、使敵人皆戲笑我、

爾民日戚戚。涕淚充飲食。

You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us.

You have let our neighbors mock us. Our enemies laugh at us.

You make us an object of contention for our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us the scorn of neighboring nations. Our enemies treat us as a joke.

You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves.

Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors; And our enemies laugh among themselves.

You make us quarrel with our neighbors; our enemies make fun of us.

You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.

We have become an object of reproach to our neighbors, a source of mockery and ridicule to those around us.

Wasn’t Israel a laughingstock to you? Was he ever found among thieves? For whenever you speak of him you shake your head.”

When they were in good spirits, they said,“ Bring Samson here to entertain us.” So they brought Samson from prison, and he entertained them. They had him stand between the pillars.

Woe is me, my mother, that you gave birth to me, a man who incites dispute and conflict in all the land. I did not lend or borrow, yet everyone curses me.

“ Now make a deal with my master, the king of Assyria. I’ll give you two thousand horses if you’re able to supply riders for them!

Who is it you have mocked and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes in pride? Against the Holy One of Israel!

But the royal spokesman replied,“ Has my master sent me to speak these words to your master and to you, and not to the men who are sitting on the wall, who are destined with you to eat their own excrement and drink their own urine?”Then the royal spokesman stood and called out loudly in Hebrew: Listen to the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!This is what the king says:“ Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, for he cannot rescue you.Don’t let Hezekiah persuade you to rely on the LORD, saying,‘ The LORD will certainly rescue us! This city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.’”Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for this is what the king of Assyria says:“ Make peace with me and surrender to me. Then every one of you may eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink water from his own cisternuntil I come and take you away to a land like your own land— a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.Beware that Hezekiah does not mislead you by saying,‘ The LORD will rescue us.’ Has any one of the gods of the nations rescued his land from the power of the king of Assyria?Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they rescued Samaria from my power?Who among all the gods of these lands ever rescued his land from my power? So will the LORD rescue Jerusalem from my power?”

therefore, mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys, to the desolate ruins and abandoned cities, which have become plunder and a mockery to the rest of the nations all around.

Those who live on the earth will gloat over them and celebrate and send gifts to one another because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
