the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself.

Guard the root you have planted with your powerful right hand. Take care of the branch you have raised up for yourself.

the stock that your right hand planted, and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.

“‘ This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will take a shoot from the very top of a cedar and plant it; I will break off a tender sprig from its topmost shoots and plant it on a high and lofty mountain.On the mountain heights of Israel I will plant it; it will produce branches and bear fruit and become a splendid cedar. Birds of every kind will nest in it; they will find shelter in the shade of its branches.All the trees of the forest will know that I the Lord bring down the tall tree and make the low tree grow tall. I dry up the green tree and make the dry tree flourish.“‘ I the Lord have spoken, and I will do it.’” (niv)

“‘ Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. (niv)

My hand will sustain him; surely my arm will strengthen him. (niv)

Tell him this is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ Here is the man whose name is the Branch, and he will branch out from his place and build the temple of the Lord. (niv)

“ The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The Lord Our Righteous Savior. (niv)

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. (niv)

I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt, wild vine? (niv)

“ I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. (niv)

Jesus then began to speak to them in parables:“ A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the winepress and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place. (niv)

I will sing for the one I love a song about his vineyard: My loved one had a vineyard on a fertile hillside.He dug it up and cleared it of stones and planted it with the choicest vines. He built a watchtower in it and cut out a winepress as well. Then he looked for a crop of good grapes, but it yielded only bad fruit. (niv)

And now the Lord says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord and my God has been my strength— (niv)
