爾何毀其垣、任路人摘之、

今曷毀其藩籬、任為路人折取兮、

主因何拆毀護樹之藩籬、任行路之人折取、

扶疎臨海角。蔓衍到幼法。

Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes?

And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up;[ and] break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.All that pass by the way spoil him: he is a reproach to his neighbours.

For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.

He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard[ it], they said, God forbid.

For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away[ and] cut down the branches.They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
