你為甚麼拆毀它的籬笆，任由所有過路的人採摘呢？

你為什麼毀壞它的圍牆，以致所有過路的人都去摘取呢？

爾何毀其垣、任路人摘之、

今曷毀其藩籬、任為路人折取兮、

主因何拆毀護樹之藩籬、任行路之人折取、

扶疎臨海角。蔓衍到幼法。

Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes?

Why have you broken down the walls around your vine? Now all who pass by it can pick its grapes.

Thou hast broken down all his hedges; Thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.All that pass by the way rob him: He is become a reproach to his neighbors.

He will come and destroy these husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

For before the harvest, when the blossom is over, and the flower becometh a ripening grape, he will cut off the sprigs with pruning- hooks, and the spreading branches will he take away and cut down.They shall be left together unto the ravenous birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth; and the ravenous birds shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
