因為祂為雅各制定法度，為以色列設立律法，又吩咐我們的祖先把這些律法傳給兒女，

He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors to teach their children,

He gave laws to the people of Jacob. He gave Israel their law. He commanded our people who lived before us to teach his laws to their children.

你們為人父母的不要激怒兒女，要照主的教導和警戒養育他們。

並教導你們的兒女，無論在家在外，或起或臥，都要講論這些律例和誡命。

即在離開埃及後傳授給他們的法度、律例和典章。

上帝攻擊埃及的時候，為約瑟立下此法度。我在那裡聽見陌生的聲音說：

祂將自己的話傳於雅各，將自己的律例和法令指示以色列。

人應該遵循耶和華的訓誨和法度。人若不遵循祂的話，必看不到曙光。

是我們所聞所知、世代流傳下來的事。我們不要在子孫面前隱瞞事實，要把耶和華當受稱頌的作為、祂的權能和所行的奇事告訴下一代。

其實益處非常多！首先，上帝的聖言託付給了猶太人。

把約櫃安置在裡面，用幔子遮掩。

要把施恩座放在櫃上面，把我賜給你的約版放在櫃裡。

只有活著的人才能像我今天這樣讚美你，並且把你的信實告訴下一代。

我揀選了他，是要他教導自己的子孫後代持守我的道、秉公行義。這樣，我必實現對他的應許。」

要用這些話教導你們的兒女，無論在家在外、或起或臥，都要講論；

耶和華的律法完美，能更新生命；耶和華的法度可靠，讓愚人有智慧。

我們既然接受人的見證，就更該接受上帝的見證，因為上帝為祂的兒子作了見證。信上帝兒子的人心裡有這見證，不信上帝的人等於把上帝當作撒謊的，因為他不信上帝為祂兒子做的見證。這見證就是：上帝已經把永恆的生命賜給我們，這生命在祂兒子裡面。人有上帝的兒子，就有這生命；沒有上帝的兒子，就沒有這生命。

我很早就從你的法度中知道，你的法度永遠長存。
