主仍發憐恤、赦免罪愆、不施行毀滅、屢次轉怒回嗔、不欲發之殆盡、

慈懷包荒。赦其罪孽。惡雖盈貫。未予殲滅。不為已甚。聖怒屢戢。

Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath.

But he was full of tender love. He forgave their sins and didn’t destroy his people. Time after time he held back his anger. He didn’t let all his burning anger blaze out.

Yet he, being compassionate, atoned for their iniquity and did not destroy them; he restrained his anger often and did not stir up all his wrath.

Yet he was merciful and forgave their sins and did not destroy them all. Many times he held back his anger and did not unleash his fury!

我為我的名暫且忍怒，為我的頌讚向你容忍，不將你剪除。

『耶和華不輕易發怒，並有豐盛的慈愛，赦免罪孽和過犯；萬不以有罪的為無罪，必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。』求你照你的大慈愛赦免這百姓的罪孽，好像你從埃及到如今常赦免他們一樣。」耶和華說：「我照着你的話赦免了他們。

耶和華在他面前宣告說：「耶和華，耶和華，是有憐憫有恩典的神，不輕易發怒，並有豐盛的慈愛和誠實，為千萬人存留慈愛，赦免罪孽、過犯，和罪惡，萬不以有罪的為無罪，必追討他的罪，自父及子，直到三、四代。」摩西急忙伏地下拜，說：「主啊，我若在你眼前蒙恩，求你在我們中間同行，因為這是硬着頸項的百姓。又求你赦免我們的罪孽和罪惡，以我們為你的產業。」

以色列家卻在曠野悖逆我，不順從我的律例，厭棄我的典章（人若遵行就必因此活着），大大干犯我的安息日。「我就說，要在曠野將我的忿怒傾在他們身上，滅絕他們。我卻為我名的緣故，沒有這樣行，免得我的名在我領他們出埃及的列國人眼前被褻瀆。

只是他們的兒女悖逆我，不順從我的律例，也不謹守遵行我的典章（人若遵行就必因此活着），干犯我的安息日。「我就說，要將我的忿怒傾在他們身上，在曠野向他們成就我怒中所定的。雖然如此，我卻為我名的緣故縮手沒有這樣行，免得我的名在我領他們出埃及的列國人眼前被褻瀆。

他們卻悖逆我，不肯聽從我，不拋棄他們眼所喜愛那可憎之物，不離棄埃及的偶像。「我就說，我要將我的忿怒傾在他們身上，在埃及地向他們成就我怒中所定的。我卻為我名的緣故沒有這樣行，免得我名在他們所住的列國人眼前被褻瀆；我領他們出埃及地，在這列國人的眼前將自己向他們顯現。

亞們行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，與他父親瑪拿西所行的一樣；

雖然如此，我眼仍顧惜他們，不毀滅他們，不在曠野將他們滅絕淨盡。

雅各，以色列啊，你是我的僕人，要記念這些事。以色列啊，你是我的僕人，我造就你必不忘記你。我塗抹了你的過犯，像厚雲消散；我塗抹了你的罪惡，如薄雲滅沒。你當歸向我，因我救贖了你。

他屢次搭救他們，他們卻設謀背逆，因自己的罪孽降為卑下。然而，他聽見他們哀告的時候，就眷顧他們的急難，為他們記念他的約，照他豐盛的慈愛後悔。

耶和華吩咐摩西說：「你們離開這會眾，我好在轉眼之間把他們滅絕。」他們二人就俯伏於地。摩西對亞倫說：「拿你的香爐，把壇上的火盛在其中，又加上香，快快帶到會眾那裏，為他們贖罪；因為有忿怒從耶和華那裏出來，瘟疫已經發作了。」亞倫照着摩西所說的拿來，跑到會中，不料，瘟疫在百姓中已經發作了。他就加上香，為百姓贖罪。他站在活人死人中間，瘟疫就止住了。
