But they deceived Him with their mouths, they lied to Him with their tongues,

他们却用口谄媚他，用舌向他说谎。

其實他們只是用口詐騙着他，用舌頭對他說謊罷了。

但他們用口試探他，用舌對他說謊；

惟以口諂之、以舌誑之、

仍進以甘言、貢以媚詞兮、

然彼仍以口欺罔天主、以舌向主說誑、

媚主以口。詒主以舌。意實未誠。心存詭譎。

But then they would flatter him with their mouths, lying to him with their tongues;

But they didn’t mean it when they praised him. They lied to him when they spoke.

But they flattered him with their mouths; they lied to him with their tongues.

But all they gave him was lip service; they lied to him with their tongues.

But they deceived him with their mouths, they lied to him with their tongues,

But they flattered Him with their mouth And lied to Him with their tongue.

Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, And they lied to Him with their tongue;

Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

But they deceived him with their words, and lied to him.

So My people come to you in crowds, sit in front of you, and hear your words, but they don’t obey them. Although they express love with their mouths, their hearts pursue dishonest profit.

The Lord said: Because these people approach Me with their mouths to honor Me with lip-service— yet their hearts are far from Me, and their worship consists of man-made rules learned by rote—

Ephraim surrounds me with lies, the house of Israel, with deceit. Judah still wanders with God and is faithful to the holy ones.

Then they believed His promises and sang His praise.They soon forgot His works and would not wait for His counsel.

Who was it you dreaded and feared, so that you lied and didn’t remember Me or take it to heart? Have I not kept silent for such a long time and you do not fear Me?

Foreigners submit to me grudgingly; as soon as they hear, they obey me.

“ The Lord heard your words when you spoke to me. He said to me,‘ I have heard the words that these people have spoken to you. Everything they have said is right.If only they had such a heart to fear Me and keep all My commands always, so that they and their children will prosper forever.
