They were not deprived of their craving; But while their food was still in their mouths,

其欲未厭、食猶在口、

肉尚在口、猶難屬饜兮、

彼適縱欲、肉食尚在其口、

既食且飽。貪欲未寢。

But before they turned from what they craved, even while the food was still in their mouths,

But even before they had finished eating, God acted. He did it while the food was still in their mouths.

But before they had satisfied their craving, while the food was still in their mouths,

But before they satisfied their craving, while the meat was yet in their mouths,

Before they had turned from what they craved, while the food was still in their mouths,

Yet before they had abandoned their longing, While their food was in their mouths,

They were not estranged from that which they desired, Their food was yet in their mouths,

They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat[ was] yet in their mouths,

They were not yet filled up, their food was still in their mouths,

They didn’t turn from their cravings. Their food was yet in their mouths,

For the turning away of the simple will slay them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them;

And God came to Balaam at night and said to him,“ If the men come to call you, rise and go with them; but only the word which I speak to you— that you shall do.”So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.Then God’s anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.

But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the Lord was aroused against the people, and the Lord struck the people with a very great plague.So he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving.

“ There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day.But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate,desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
