They insulted God, saying,“ Is God really able to give us food in the wilderness?

謗讟天主云、天主亦能在曠野設筵席乎、

心怨口讟。主亦何吝

They spoke against God; they said,“ Can God really spread a table in the wilderness?

They spoke against God. They said,“ Can God really put food on a table in the desert?

They spoke against God, saying,“ Can God spread a table in the wilderness?

They even spoke against God himself, saying,“ God can’t give us food in the wilderness.

They spoke against God, saying,“ Is God able to provide food in the wilderness?

Then they spoke against God; They said,“ Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

Yes, they spoke against God: They said,“ Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

Yea, they spake against God; They said, Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

They spoke against God, saying,“ Is God able to provide food in the wilderness?

Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

Yes, they spoke against God. They said,“ Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?

And the people spoke against God and against Moses,“ Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness, for there is no bread or water, and we detest this worthless food.”

Now the mixed multitude who were among them craved more desirable foods, and so the Israelites wept again and said,“ If only we had meat to eat!

Moses said,“ You will know this when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the LORD has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”Then Moses said to Aaron,“ Tell the whole community of the Israelites,‘ Come before the LORD, because he has heard your murmurings.’”As Aaron spoke to the whole community of the Israelites and they looked toward the desert, there the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud,

From where shall I get meat to give to this entire people, for they cry to me,‘ Give us meat, that we may eat!’

For he adds transgression to his sin; in our midst he claps his hands, and multiplies his words against God.”

The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat, when we ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this desert to kill this whole assembly with hunger!”

You prepare a feast before me in plain sight of my enemies. You refresh my head with oil; my cup is completely full.

So the beast opened his mouth to blaspheme against God– to blaspheme both his name and his dwelling place, that is, those who dwell in heaven.

The people contended with Moses, saying,“ If only we had died when our brothers died before the LORD!

But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”

They talked about the God of Jerusalem as if he were one of the man-made gods of the nations of the earth.
