I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night. I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

I said,“ Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:

when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I said,“ During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening.

I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. Selah

The Lord will command His lovingkindness in the daytime, And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.

I communed with my heart, saying,“ Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.”

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
