I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night. I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

I said,“ Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:

when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:

I call to remembrance my song in the night; I meditate within my heart, And my spirit makes diligent search.

I said,“ During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening.

I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me— a prayer to the God of my life.

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.

I said to myself,“ Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.”

Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment.Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.
