I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night. I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

I said,“ Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:

when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

Tremble, and do not sin; Meditate in your heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah

The Lord will send His goodness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.

Now about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;

Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts;And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Let’s examine and search out our ways, And let’s return to the Lord.

But a person must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.For the one who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not properly recognize the body.For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number are asleep.But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged.But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.
