默默思古昔。依依舊日恩。舊日恩何盛。歡歌徹深更。

I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked:

I remembered how I used to sing praise to you in the night. I thought about it, and here is what I asked myself.

I said,“ Let me remember my song in the night; let me meditate in my heart.” Then my spirit made a diligent search:

when my nights were filled with joyful songs. I search my soul and ponder the difference now.

At night I remember my music; I meditate in my heart, and my spirit ponders.

I said,“ During the night I will remember the song I once sang; I will think very carefully.” I tried to make sense of what was happening.

I remember my song in the night. I consider in my own heart; my spirit diligently inquires:

Stand in awe, and sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still.[ Selah

Yet Jehovah will command his lovingkindness in the day- time; And in the night his song shall be with me, Even a prayer unto the God of my life.

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns unto God, and the prisoners were listening to them;

Search me, O God, and know my heart: Try me, and know my thoughts;And see if there be any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.

I communed with mine own heart, saying, Lo, I have gotten me great wisdom above all that were before me in Jerusalem; yea, my heart hath had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

But let a man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.For he that eateth and drinketh, eateth and drinketh judgment unto himself, if he discern not the body.For this cause many among you are weak and sickly, and not a few sleep.But if we discerned ourselves, we should not be judged.But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.
