Now if you call yourself a Jew, and rely on the law, and boast in God,and know his will, and approve the things that are superior, being instructed from the law,and if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light to those in darkness,an instructor of the ignorant, a teacher of the immature, having the embodiment of knowledge and truth in the law—you then, who teach another, don’t you teach yourself? You who preach,“ You must not steal”— do you steal?You who say,“ You must not commit adultery”— do you commit adultery? You who detest idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?For, as it is written: The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.Circumcision benefits you if you observe the law, but if you are a lawbreaker, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.So if an uncircumcised man keeps the law’s requirements, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision?A man who is physically uncircumcised, but who keeps the law, will judge you who are a lawbreaker in spite of having the letter of the law and circumcision.For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh.On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart— by the Spirit, not the letter. That person’s praise is not from people but from God.So what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the benefit of circumcision?Considerable in every way. First, they were entrusted with the very words of God.

He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and judgments to Israel.He has not done this for every nation; they do not know his judgments. Hallelujah!

The temple that I am building will be great, for our God is greater than any of the gods.But who is able to build a temple for him, since even heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain him? Who am I then that I should build a temple for him except as a place to burn incense before him?

Or has a god attempted to go and take a nation as his own out of another nation, by trials, signs, wonders, and war, by a strong hand and an outstretched arm, by great terrors, as the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?You were shown these things so that you would know that the LORD is God; there is no other besides him.He let you hear his voice from heaven to instruct you. He showed you his great fire on earth, and you heard his words from the fire.

God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might!

The LORD is great and highly praised in the city of our God. His holy mountain,rising splendidly, is the joy of the whole earth. Mount Zion— the summit of Zaphon— is the city of the great King.God is known as a stronghold in its citadels.

For what great nation is there that has a god near to it as the LORD our God is to us whenever we call to him?And what great nation has righteous statutes and ordinances like this entire law I set before you today?

Therefore I issue a decree that anyone of any people, nation, or language who says anything offensive against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego will be torn limb from limb and his house made a garbage dump. For there is no other god who is able to deliver like this.”

For as I was passing through and observing the objects of your worship, I even found an altar on which was inscribed,‘ To an Unknown God.’ Therefore, what you worship in ignorance, this I proclaim to you.

King Nebuchadnezzar, To those of every people, nation, and language, who live on the whole earth: May your prosperity increase.I am pleased to tell you about the miracles and wonders the Most High God has done for me.

Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted. His majesty covers heaven and earth.He has raised up a horn for his people, resulting in praise to all his faithful ones, to the Israelites, the people close to him. Hallelujah!

God, hear my cry; pay attention to my prayer.

Answer me when I call, God, who vindicates me. You freed me from affliction; be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
