We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.

那孩子撒母耳在以利面前事奉耶和華，在那些日子，耶和華的言語稀少，異象也不常有。

“看哪！日子快到，這是主耶和華的宣告。我必使饑荒臨到這地，這饑荒不是因為沒有食物，這乾渴不是因為沒有水；而是因為聽不見耶和華的話。

這血要在你們居住的房屋上作你們的記號；我擊打埃及地的時候，一看見這血，就越過你們去，災禍必不臨到你們身上毀滅你們。

我又把我的安息日賜給他們，作我與他們之間的憑據，使他們知道我是使他們分別為聖的耶和華。

基甸又對他說：“如果我在你眼前蒙恩，求你給我一個憑據，證實是你與我說話。

因此你們只有黑夜，沒有異象，只有黑暗，沒有默示。對先知，日頭要下落，為他們，白日變為黑暗。

神又照著自己的旨意，用神蹟、奇事和各樣異能，以及聖靈的恩賜，與他們一同作見證。

錫安的眾城門已經陷入地裡；耶和華把錫安的門閂都毀壞折斷了。錫安的君王和領袖都身在列國中；錫安再沒有律法了；它的眾先知也得不到從耶和華而來的異象。

災禍加上災禍，壞消息加上壞消息，不絕而來，他們要向先知求異象，但是，祭司的教訓、長老的指導，都必斷絕，
